Last year, 42 Mississippi school districts offered dual-credit programs, and officials say they expect more campuses to offer the opportunity during this school year. Madison County will add the dual-credit option, in which high-school students can earn college and high-school credits for the same college-level class. Educators say such programs are growing in popularity due, in part, to convenience, cost and a boost to students' readiness for college.
