Element is expanding, but focuses mostly on sustainability

As Starwood's eco-friendly brand Element Hotels expands into markets such as China, the company is careful to continue deploying eco-conscious practices as well. "We were very passionate, from our CEO down, that we were not going to greenwash this brand, and we continue to be extremely passionate about that," said Brian McGuinness, a hotel executive.
