Free meals, made-from-scratch dishes are on the menu in W.Va. district

Raleigh County Schools in West Virginia is overhauling its foodservices program to provide universal, free breakfast and lunch to elementary-school students. The district will be able to choose from several breakfast meal-service options, including grab-and-go, the traditional model or serving breakfast after the first class of the day. School nutrition professionals also recently were trained to make more meals from scratch in an effort to avoid serving as much processed food.
