Home improvement spending is up

Homeowners are investing more in improvements to their homes and will continue to do so in the short term, according to a metric from the Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard University. However, this spending could moderate in 2014 as the housing market slows its pace of growth, said Kermit Baker, the center's director of the Remodeling Futures Program.
