JCP's turnaround efforts pay off as BTS Web traffic increases

J.C. Penney's online back-to-school sales rank second only to Wal-Mart's, according to search-traffic data from Experian Marketing Services, an indication that the retailer's turnaround efforts are paying off. Penney's Web traffic, which currently puts it above competitors including Macy's, Amazon and Target, was not even ranked among the top 10 sites last year.
