Lawmaker introduces amendment for landing-speed warnings

Rep. Jackie Speier, D-Calif., has introduced legislation to require warnings about landing speeds on aircraft. The amendment is attached to the Transportation and Housing and Urban Development 2014 budget bill. The amendment would give the Federal Aviation Administration $500,000 to study the possibility of verbal warnings to pilots on aircraft when landing speeds are too slow.
