Lessons from British Columbia's carbon tax

British Columbia's carbon tax is 5 years old, and experts say it's beating expectations. Oil-based fuel use per capita has fallen by almost a fifth relative to the rest of Canada, helping B.C. to reduce emissions almost 10 times as sharply as the country as a whole. The region's economy, meanwhile, has performed about as well as the rest of Canada.
