Obama proposes linking corporate-tax cut to jobs spending

President Barack Obama proposed a "grand bargain" for the economy made up of a cut in the corporate-tax rate in return for Republican backing for spending to create middle-class jobs. "If we're going to give businesses a better deal, we're going to give workers a better deal, too," Obama said at an Amazon distribution center in Chattanooga, Tenn. The proposal was dismissed by a spokesman for House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio.
