Consumers are spending more, but they are not giving up the habits they gained in the recession of comparison shopping and searching out the best value for their purchases, said Mintel. "Marketers should not expect a swing back to pre-recession impulse buying habits and spending on credit," said Fiona O'Donnell, a Mintel analyst.
