Slowdown in Indian pharma exports spurs industry to ask for government help

Pharmaceutical exporters in India have asked the government to enact measures to counteract the effects of market slowdowns and Chinese competition. In the short term, the industry has asked for rebates and duty cuts; longer-term measures include venture funds and financial assistance. The growth of Indian pharma exports in 2012-2013 was half that of the previous year.
