Study: CRC patients who have diabetes face greater risk of death

Italian researchers said data showed colorectal cancer patients with diabetes faced a 36% higher risk of colorectal cancer mortality, and were 41% more likely to die from any cause, compared with those who did not have diabetes. Dr. Alok Khorana of the Cleveland Clinic said cancer patients must make diabetes control a priority and ensure it does not "take a backseat to the management of the malignancy."
