Study links DES to stent thrombosis, lower bleeding risk

Data on 8,583 percutaneous coronary intervention patients showed those who were implanted with a drug-eluting stent and exhibited high platelet reactivity on clopidogrel were at an increased risk of stent thrombosis and heart attack at one year. However, such patients had lower risk of major bleeding during the same period, researchers reported in The Lancet.
