Study suggests varied Medicare payment rates for hospices

A study in the CMS journal Medicare & Medicaid Research Review suggested Medicare payments could change based on the resource intensity of hospice services, which tends to be greater at the start and the end of patient care. Researchers noted the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission has called for this type of payment structure.
