The Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and the growth of online travel agencies are tough hurdles to overcome. But travel agents in the Portland, Ore., area are finally seeing the start of a turnaround after several slow years. Corporate and leisure travelers with complicated or extensive itineraries still seek the personal touch an agent provides, and travel in general is bouncing back from the attacks four years ago, the Portland Tribune reports.
