Retailers join forces to fight organized theft

To fend off losses from organized theft, retailers are sharing information in crime databases and using more sophisticated security equipment in stores. Shoppers also are being forced to foot part of the bill for organized theft, paying as much as 2 cents on every dollar spent, according to the National Retail Federation.
