Providence, R.I., grows but retains small-town flavor

Long considered a suburb of Boston, Providence, R.I., has grown during recent years to include an Ivy League college, avant-garde art school and a revitalized waterfront. The capital city has also restored its historic corridors and built a new convention center. Despite the changes, Providence has maintained its small-town feel.
