Column: Perennial plants offer beauty to a xeriscaped garden

Perennial flowering plants such as blackberry lily, skullcap and Joe-Pye weed can be included in xeriscaped gardens because they flourish under tough conditions, writes master gardener Jan Wiese-Fales. The plants also produce flowers with vibrant hues that attract bumblebees and butterflies, Wiese-Fales added.
