Consuming fish oil during pregnancy can help infant's immune system

Pregnant women who take fish oil supplements may help their infants ward off colds after they are born. A recently published study found that newborns whose mothers took omega-3 fatty acids became ill less often and less severely. "Our findings are suggestive of a possible benefit," said lead author Usha Ramakrishnan.
