Airports eye robots to further expand automation

Geneva Airport is going beyond self-service bag drops and mobile check in to add robots in the mix. The robots, created with BlueBotics, guide passengers through the airport. Air France KLM is also conducting research to explore the use of robots in airports. Manuel van Lijf, Air France's research and development head, said a completely automated experience is not the goal because humans offer comfort and service.
