All-electric aviation could take off if regulation doesn't stand in the way

Two leading aerospace companies demonstrated electric taxiing systems at the Paris Air Show in June, and Italian helicopter manufacturer AgustaWestland has built a prototype of an electric-powered, tilting-rotor, helicopter-cum-airplane it calls Project Zero. But in the past, innovation has been held back by regulators.
