Berlusconi ruling puts Italy's economic recovery at risk

Italy's fragile coalition government, formed to deal with grave economic problems, became shaky after the highest court upheld a prison sentence for former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, whose supporters back the government. The Court of Cassation confirmed Berlusconi's prison sentence for tax fraud but sent a five-year ban on his participation in government back to an appeals court for review.
