Calif. district votes to expand yoga program

The Encinitas Union School District in California will expand its controversial yoga program for students after accepting another grant from the group that funds the lessons in its schools. The Sonima Foundation grant, approved Wednesday by district trustees, is to provide funding to hire more yoga teachers. Some parents unsuccessfully sued the district to block the yoga lessons, which they said are based on Eastern religions and inappropriate for public schools.
