DOT to adopt "multimodal" approach to transportation network, says Foxx

The U.S. transportation network should be treated in a "multimodal fashion" in terms of priorities, says Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx. He says his agency can't just be concerned about roads because rail is just as -- or more --- important in some parts of the country. The inclusion of high-speed rail in the national freight plan is also important as "high-speed rail is not just passenger-focused; it is freight-focused," Foxx said.
