Florida education chief Tony Bennett resigns

Tony Bennett has announced his resignation as Florida education commissioner. His decision -- effectively immediately -- follows reports of alleged political favors while he was Indiana's elected schools chief. Bennett, who took the Florida position in January after losing re-election in Indiana, called the allegations against him "malicious and unfounded" and said he resigned to avoid being a distraction.
