Health insurance linked to better BP drug adherence, study finds

Patients with high blood pressure who have health insurance, particularly private coverage, are more likely to adhere to prescription regimens and keep their hypertension under control than patients who lack health insurance, a meta-analysis found. Having a single health care provider and a regular place of care also boosts control and adherence, researchers found.
