Highlights from the PMA Foodservice Expo

Among the items drawing the most attention at this year’s PMA Foodservice Expo in Monterey, Calif.: Del Monte is testing a new bagging machine, available by 2014, for single-serve packs ideal for school lunches and snacks; Idaho-based Kingston Marketing has two new products, Kingston Ringer onion and Kingston Fryer potato, that the company says increases yields and profits; and Nash Produce, based in North Carolina, is testing a carbon-dioxide system to replace fungicide and is offering a new stainless-steel packing line.
