New ice cream products have nontraditional textures, flavors

Several new ice cream products are following in the footsteps of Dippin' Dots by challenging traditional thinking about flavor and texture, Ginny Fahs writes. Wikipearls, for instance, are ice cream balls encapsulated by an edible skin to eliminate plastic packaging. Also, Haagen-Dazs is selling spherical frozen treats referred to as Ice Moon cakes.
