Penn State program targets potential engineers at a tender age

Penn State students inspired a group of 6-to-9-year-old prospective future engineers with a one-day program that combined origami, arts and engineering. The effort was an outgrowth of a $2 million research grant from the National Science Foundation. "Part of our research is to also do outreach and education within the community," Rebecca Strzelec, professor of visual arts at Penn State-Altoona.
