Sen. McCain seeks Justice Dept. input on proposed fine for Halliburton

The Department of Justice needs to explain its proposed $200,000 fine for Halliburton Energy Services over the destruction of 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill-related evidence, said Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz. The lawmaker also wants clarification on whether company officials would be shielded from prosecution for ordering such a move under a plea agreement with Halliburton.
