Supplemental products help fill holes in medical coverage

Supplemental insurance can help consumers pay for services that most conventional medical plans do not cover. Adult dental services are excluded from 81% of conventional health plans, according to a HealthPocket analysis. Children's dental checkups are not covered by 92% of health plans, though the Affordable Care Act will require coverage of pediatric dental care.
