United Supermarkets and Safeway plan to raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. United's "Aisles of Smiles" campaign is scheduled Aug. 14 to Sept. 3. The campaign donates a portion of sales of certain products and lets customers purchase a Smiley Face tag, costing as little as $1, to hang in the store. Safeway's fundraiser, running through Sept. 2, also involves customer donation at checkout.
