U.S. customs preclearance facilities now at 14 foreign airports

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has set up preclearance facilities in 14 airports around the world, including in Canada, Ireland and the Bahamas. "It's a significant competitive advantage for our tourism," said David Johnson, director general of the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism. However, a plan to open a facility in Abu Dhabi has provoked criticism because no U.S. airlines serve the airport in the United Arab Emirates.
