Washington state now allows up to five physician assistants to be supervised by a single doctor, a change that could alleviate the shortage of primary care providers expected when the state's Medicaid expansion takes effect next year. The new law also lifts a requirement that doctors be available on site for 10% of the time a PA is practicing.
