How flexible work programs can help college faculty

Job flexibility programs at colleges and universities are showing success in helping faculty balance work and home life, according to participants at a recent conference sponsored by the American Council on Education and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. Through Sloan funding, schools such as Stanford University have offered part-time hours, more sick time and other perks to improve faculty morale and productivity.
