The chairman of the Senate committee to vote on the nominee to head the FDA says he will have enough votes in September to send the nomination to the Senate floor for a vote. Two women senators, who insist the FDA reach a decision first on whether the Plan B contraceptive can be sold over the counter, have placed a "procedural hold" preventing a vote on the nomination of acting commissioner Andrew von Eschenbach by the full Senate.
