Sprint withdraws from spectrum-bidding consortium

Sprint Nextel has backed out of SpectrumCo, a wireless-spectrum-bidding consortium that involved Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications and Bright House Networks. Sprint said it was withdrawing to concentrate on "other strategic initiatives" with the cable industry, including its Pivot cellular service joint venture.
