Study IDs risk factors for adverse obesity surgery outcomes

Independent risk factors for poor outcomes in bariatric surgery patients include a history of deep-vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolus, obstructive sleep apnea, and impaired functional status, according to a new study. Researchers added the overall risk of death and other adverse outcomes was low and varied by patient.
