Job-seeking mothers are invited in for interviews about half as often as women who don't have children, a Stanford study found. U.S. laws and courts are working to stem the discrimination. Among the EEOC's tips to managers for avoiding bias against mothers: "Do not ask questions about the applicant's or employee's children, plans to start a family, pregnancy or other caregiving-related issues during interviews or performance reviews."
