AVMA, animal groups to provide aid to pet owners in Gulf Coast region

AVMA's American Veterinary Medical Foundation has teamed up with Merial's Paws to Save Pets and Hill's Pet Nutrition to provide financial and material support to veterinary clinics that are offering free services and products to pet owners who have been financially affected by the Gulf Coast oil spill. The initiative, which will allot $145,000 in funding, will initially support 90 veterinary clinics and five shelters.
