California requests another $1B for high-speed rail

California is requesting another $1 billion in federal dollars to fund its high-speed rail plans. The project, expected to cost about $45 billion to build, previously received $2.2 billion in stimulus funding. The state is looking to private investors to fill the gaps, but so far none have made a bid to participate.
