An infant in Florida's Tampa region has died of Eastern equine encephalitis, the second case of death linked to the mosquito-borne virus in the area since July 1. Incidents of the disease are also increasing in horses throughout Florida. A state official urged horse owners to have their animals vaccinated against mosquito-borne diseases, including West Nile disease. "In the vast majority of cases we have seen this year, the horses either had no vaccinations at all or they were not current," said Florida Agriculture and Consumer Services Commissioner Charles Bronson.
