Americans lose life expectancy advantage over Europeans

U.S. researchers found that the life expectancy of people in high-income European countries surpassed that of Americans by 18 months. Researchers wrote in the Social Science & Medicine journal that addressing obesity and obesity-related conditions could extend life expectancy in the U.S. as well as reduce health care costs.
