High-court ruling leads more bank customers' disputes to arbitration

Banks increasingly are taking advantage of a Supreme Court ruling that found that state laws cannot override private contracts that require unsatisfied bank customers to go through arbitration instead of filing a lawsuit. Some observers say the ruling limits consumers' options in dealing with a complaint, and that many consumers are unaware of arbitration requirements when they sign contracts.
