An information exchange is launched to track pet-food incidents

The Food and Drug Administration and the Partnership for Food Protection on Monday announced the launch of PETNet, the Pet Event Tracking Network, an information-sharing system aimed at allowing FDA and federal and state agencies to relay information related to pet-food incidents, such as illnesses association with pet food or product defects. PETNet is made up of 200 representatives from all 50 states; Washington, D.C.; Puerto Rico; and four federal government agencies.
