Undersea-cable project would bring in a $13B net benefit, exec says

Atlantic Wind Connection's proposed undersea transmission lines that would stretch from Virginia to New Jersey are expected to bring in a $13 billion net benefit to consumers, according to CEO Bob Mitchell. The $5.5 billion project, which would be capable of supporting 7 gigawatts of offshore-wind power, is expected to reduce congestion on the grid, lower power rates and generate up to 35,000 construction and permanent jobs, said Mitchell.
