Across generations, people want the same thing from work

While millennials are often viewed as a generation of workers significantly different from their (often baby boomer) employers, the differences are likely more a product of current age than generation, psychologist Jean Twenge says. When comparing work-related questions answered when each generation was in high school, Twenge found they all rate intrinsic values as the most important job value, followed by altruistic values in the middle and social rewards at the bottom.
