British official wants to quadruple offshore wind capacity

Britain should seek to quadruple its offshore wind capacity, adding 26,000 jobs in the process, said Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg on Thursday. Critics said Clegg's plan would be doomed without a long-term, government-level commitment to offshore development. "The failure to include a decarbonization target is a gaping hole at the heart of the government's offshore wind industrial strategy," said shadow Energy Minister Tom Greatrex.
