Jump Start Special Needs Camp in Sevierville, Tenn., offers students with disabilities a chance to get back into regular school routines. Students in the program learn with peers who do not have disabilities who serve as role models and provide socialization opportunities. "We just want to kick-start them into the new school year," camp co-creator Lisa Roberts said, adding, "Most of the special needs kids don't play summer sports. They stay inside a lot, and their days are pretty much the same."
