Marriott eyes lower energy, water use at hotels in Europe

Marriott International is looking to lower its carbon dioxide emissions by an additional 7% over the next three years, and also reduce water and energy consumption by 20% by 2020. One of the initiatives the hotel giant will do is team up with Siemens to audit energy consumption and adjust building management systems to optimize energy usage. Marriott also teamed up with KiWi Power at its London hotels to use tools that would optimize energy usage during peak times without interrupting service.
