Mars rocket clears design hurdle

NASA's Space Launch System rocket has passed a preliminary design review, a key milestone in the deep space rocket's progress. NASA plans to use the heavy rocket on manned missions to Mars or asteroids. "In two short years from the first announcement of the Space Launch System, we are at a milestone that validates the detailed design and integration of the system," said NASA's Dan Dumbacher.
